Lloyds also said it had struck a deal to allow Halifax customers to pay in cash and cheques at the 12,000 Post Office branches.

Previously you could only withdraw cash but now you can do more :j

I occasionally pay cheques to a Co-op Current Account through the Post Office. You get special envelopes from the bank to be sealed with the cheque(s) and a paying-in slip inside. Works OK but it's a slow job, taking about 5 days for the funds to show. Cash is credited instantly via your Debit Card.

LloydsTSB Post Office service is more antiquated - you use a pay-in slip to deposit cash, and it took 7 Calendar day to arrive in my (ex) account.

Using a card (Co-Op, A&L & Clydesdale) is much better as it is credited via LINK so is almost real time.
