confused !
have a bit of time on my hands (garden leave
)
so thought i'd look at switching over electricity/gas
currently pay DD £48 for elec £41 for gas - gave readings a few weeks ago and elec. went down from £85 per month !!
So just looked on moneysupermarket.com and am now a bit confused!
looks like i can save another 250 per year, but some of the reviews for these providers are very scary!.
on the face of it, Npower looks the best bet. however, the feedback is so bad its putting me off.
Any advice ? I do now realise I am paying over the odds so need to get it sorted especially as I'm out of work end July
thanks

Hi, the best tariff depends on how you pay, cash or cheques,DD or PP meter. Also if you are going to manage your account on line, this will always give you the best tariff as you give the reads and the supplier doesn't have to send out bills so it is a win/win situation.
A lot of complaints are caused by people not giving reads or allowing meter readers in to read the meter. If you give regula meter reads and make sure your supplier does not estimate your account you won't have any problems with any supplier.
Go for the best deal don't be put off by ratings as they can be subjective.
Goof luck and I hope this helps0 -
thanks for the tips i will proceed forthwith !0

Hi lynne1307
When getting quotes or switching suppliers, it's best have your 12 months' energy use to hand as sometimes using your monthly payments doesn't give you a clear picture.
Best thing to do is call your current supplier, ask them for your 12 months' energy use in KWH, which includes the summer and winter periods, and then go online to find your best supplier.
Remember, when you pay by monthly direct debit, most suppliers have discounts so include these in your quotes.
Best of luck.
Kind Regards
