That's lame lol, I'm only keeping my hub because I wan't to use the free telephone number I get with it since it links up to the hub
I still get the free number (I think) as long as I hook it up to a phone line and then register it wirelessly with something, haven't tried that yet. I'd much rather use my belkin than crap controlled by BT.Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

So are you going to cable broadband from BT phone line ADSL? In which case the HomeHub (even if unlocked) would be of limited use and probably more hassle than it is worth.
Assuming CABLE broadband from Virgin, I'd look at something from this range (they start at about £18)

No I'm broadband through a BT landline (which Virgin tell me they can now take over so I won't be using BT at all). I'd also been given a netgear router but that is only for cable i believe as it doesn't have a modem with it. If that makes any sense.0 -

Yep, that makes sense, but if you don't have wireless right now, and you do have DSL, what hardware are you using to connect?
A non-wireless router
a usb modem
an ethernet modem
The non-wireless router could be made to work with the netgear ethernet wireless router you currently have.
An ethernet modem will work with the netgear.
A usb modem is useless. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -

Maybe it's just a normal SIP account. Then you can use any router who supports it. My old BeBox for instance supported SIP accounts.
To get a free SIP number from an independent company have a look at sipgate.co.uk0
