I have been with my bank for over 30 years. Until 5 years ago never had a problem, since moving to scotland I have had nothing but problems. I am currently receiving treatment for breast cancer and my husband suffers fro M.E. we are currently unable to work, and rely on benefits. We would like to change banks but dont want to jump from the pan into the fire. Can anyone reccomend a bank for people in our situation?

Why not find a "local" building society and have a basic passbook account.
They allows bacs payments in etcFor everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
Or a post office account?0

Co-op accepted me for a current account whilst on benefits, and you can pay in cash and cheques at any post office so hardly any need for a branch. If you're not accepted for the current account you'll be offered the cashminder account (with a debit card) anyway0
