Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help, i was looking to take a provident loan out of appr £300, but i would be able to pay it all off on 22nd July, how much interest do you think i'd have to pay back?
or is there another company a bit cheaper/better?

i have very bad credit atm so no-one else can really help!

have you looked into a small payday loan? if you only have intentions of keeping it for one month or less these are the best options (defo not a good options if you intend to have it longer)

Prob your best bet if you have v bad credit as the majority of payday lenders do not credit search.

    Good Luck

£300 cash over 23 weeks would be a total payback of £448.50 (APR 545.2%)!!!

i'm not very good with maths sorry, so i was wondering if i paid it of within 3-4 weeks if i'd still be liable for the full 448.50?

as if it was as easy as that!

I find it hurtful and annoying that people make the assumption if u are in debt ect you are "spending too much" it isn't always the case!
as for the £300 i am looking to borrow, it is to buy a new fridge/freezer as ours is on the way out, as is our washing machine, and having 3 young kids 6,4,1 i really need them!

umm generally yes, unless you have something in the small print allowing early repayment that specifies you paying less than the full amount in those circumstances, and you've read and understood all the small print BEFORE signing.

why not stop spending and make what you need the £300 for wait 3 weeks rather than paying £450 just for the sake of doing whatever it is now?

I thought it would be something unessessary.

Can you not wash clothes by hand for 3 weeks and/or use a neighbours machine or laundrette.

Has the fridge actually failed? can you get by without refrigeration for 3 weeks like the whole country would have had to do before the 1950's

eg by living off longer life foods for the time and fresh stuff bought every 2-3 days from the supermarket?

if you can't make a small adjustment for a few weeks to avoid shelling out £150 for having the new machines NOW you really must have money to burn, personally i'd be saving myself £150.

AND thats before you start thinking of how you could get a fridge/washing machine for less than £300......

like the post you were so dismissive of above, stop spending
  • Look on Ebay or in the local paper for fridges and freezers. Because of the rules about getting rid of white goods nowadays, people just want to offload their old ones without having to take them to the dump. If you can collect, that's even better.
