hi, i transfered my money from my old natwest account to my alliance and leicester online saver and when i then tried to transfer it today from the a&l online saver to my regular a&l account it would not let me,i phoned up and they said i can only transfer it back to the natwest account.
i asked them how i am supposed to withdraw it as my old account is closed but she just kept saving ,,you can only send it back to the account it come from in the first place,,.
i don,t understand, is my money imprisoned in the online saver forever now ?
can anyone help please.

The problem is that you must transfer from the online-saver account to a nominated linked account. It would seem that your NatWest account is currently your online-saver's linked account.
I suggest that you nominate your A&L current account as the linked account for the online-saver. You will probably need to phone their customer disservice to do this. Why does it not surprise me that they failed to point this out to you when you phoned them ?
Hope this helps

A similar thing happened to me last year - I got frustrated with customer service, demanded they close the account and they sent me the balance as a cheque. Its now invested elsewhere.I get enough exercise just pushing my luck0
