Pollen bettle missery - help ( if there is any )
Hi everyone and hope you can help
This year for the 1st time i have grown a squash plant and some winter brassicas. The plants are doing well but i now can not go out side without being hounded by pollen beetles ( Rape seed beetles ) They are all over the squash flowers and i made the mistake of wearing a yellow top this morning - i spent a long time fishing the little beggers out of my top when i came back inside!
Is there anything i can do to keep them at bay? i know they are harmless but i would rather they did not wait to ambush me as i walk outside!! The plants are in the ground so i can't just move pots to keep them away from the door.
I know its a bit trivial but i have never come across these before, so i hope some one can help
* sorry for the typo in the title - small little boy hands had been helping me type !! *

You could enviromesh your entire garden, or garden in the nude, no clothes to worry about getting beetles caught in then.
Or just not wear yellow
Or embrace the wonders of nature and teach your little boy about them, the yellow squash flowers are about for literally days, not weeks.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
:rotfl:I think all the options you have surgested are pretty much the only solution :rotfl: Think a 7 month preg lady gardening in the nuddy might just freak next door out a little bit though!! be cooler as well

Hope they find a new home soon as i hate sqwishing them by mistake when they land on me
Thanks for the reply :T0
