Paying for a Butlins Break with Clubcard Vouchers

I am looking at a midweek break at Butlins and paying with Clubcard Deals. I have used tokens for lots of other things so ordering the tokens etc are not a problem.

What I would like to know regards paying part deals/part cash.
In Butlins t&c (brochure and pdf online), it states that "... if using Tesco vouchers to pay for all or part of your holiday ... only vaild on brochure prices..." which is also not a problem.

However when I contacted Butlins the girl said that if I wasn't paying in full I had to pay a minimum of £50 cash pp going. I was only £50 short in deals, so obviously don't want to pay £250 in cash (as there are 5 of us).

The Clubcard website says that I can top-up the shortfall in cash - no mention of a specified amt. Has anyone else come across this, and if so can anyone point me in the direction of where it states this in writing? Would appreciate it, thanks.

Also, can I buy the breakfast & dinner apartments using Clubcard deals? Can't find anywhere saying I can't, but just want to be sure before I phone again. Ta.

  • maybe you should contact clubcard and ask their advice, they must be used to this if it is the case and can prob advise you as to what to do x

Butlins T&C's don't seem to mention it (they do mention Tesco)

Might be worth trying once more, in case the person you initially spoke to had the wrong end of the stick?

The £50 will be a deposit that secures your holiday ?

I know Park Resorts ask for £50 deposit if you dont have the vouchers in hand, but once you get them you just ring up and give the voucher numbers then send them in

    Thanks all for your replies.

Decided to just bite the bullet and phone again just to see if I got the same response. Couldn't have been more different!

This time the lady on the other end was really nice and friendly. She took a credit card deposit (less than £10), to reserve the accommodation for me. I told her I hadn't even applied for the deals tokens and she just said get them asap and post off. Ordered them online this evening.

Also she said that as the full balance (I knew I was going to have shortfall of vouchers), wasn't due until the month before I was staying, if I earned any more vouchers in the meantime I could change them up to pay the difference. WOW!

Glad I decided not to pay the £250 in cash originally asked for.

Ps. Also booked the break with breakfast & dinner included, so clubcard paying for our meals too.
