    Hi everyone

Busy day at work for me but I made some DFW progress:

    - Enjoyed a free cuppa and 2 x free muffins :p
    - Got a book I wanted to read for free :D
    - Wedding planning bits and bobs
    - Took shoes back that didn't fit
    - Need to update spending diary and get back on track
    - See if I have any pennies for the jar
    - Dinner from stores
    - Catching up with the tennis

Shall think of a few more...

Littlekel, have you seen any ex-sample dresses? Some of them can be really good value too.

Wow that is amazing, can I ask why you had a nat insurance rebate? As I am not sure if I need one, I know I need a tax rebate.

Hi Catmiaow - I joined the pension 3 years ago. Then in March this year Payroll contacted me to say they had made a mistake when I joined in my Nat Ins payments (I think you maybe get 2% break if you pay into a pension?) and that for the yr 2009/10 I had paid £386 too much and I received it back in my April Salary. This amount is for the previous 2 years and I have to wait for a rebate from the inlad rev direct (will no doubt be months before I receive it)

How do you know you need a tax rebate? And how do I find out if I do???

    Today I have / will:

Checked online banking and done totals for month (how sad am I? :o)

Seen to plants and animals (watering to do in a minute)

    HC dried on line

Started self assessment thingies for self and OH . OH's is fairly straightforward, but will have to ask brother to help with mine

'cos I have been made redundant, started a new job and done some consultancy work during this tax year. Why is it so complicated? It would be much easier just to have claimed benefits and not bothered - except that they would probably have told me where to get off :rotfl:

No offence meant towards people who do claim benefits, but it is SO complicated :( and I don't even mind paying the tax bill to be honest - it won't be that much anyway - it is just the hassle and stress of getting to that stage

((Hugs)) to DNMs - I am in a similar situation due to public sector cuts, not sure if my job will stay or not

HM meals from stores and garden :D

    Small shop at Mr S

Got OH to pick raspberries :D

Got OH to paint old side table 'shabby chic' look :D

OH went fishing and didn't catch anything :rotfl:

Better get on with that watering :)

    Hi DNM,

I earned less than my tax allowance, but did the odd full week or extra day here and there so ended up paying tax, which I have had to write to them to try and get back no doubt will it take ages!

If your in doubt whether you need one I would check what your allowance is and see if your tax is correct.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

ah thanks Dawn (& rachel) its fine though - what will be will be. Hope its not too worrying for for you. I guess its just the way the cookie crumbles and things'll work out they always do - just must try to keep my head in the meantime (its often the worrying about things that might happen that is worse than the actual situation :rotfl:)
