The exact same thing happened to me - two months in succession they took the whole balance and then had to refund (even after promising me the 1st time that it had been sorted). It has been resolved now with the past 2 monthly payments being made ok. When I asked, they stated that my credit score has no way been affected. I ask for a confirmation letter but they said they do not do this.

After reading OP's credit score change however, I am not sure what to do now as I am hoping to purchase a house with my OH and am now worrying we will get rejected.

How do I check my credit score as I had nothing wrong beforehand.
    Thank you all who post.

You don't need to check your credit score as this means nothing. However, you do need to check your credit files with the 3 Credit Reference Agencies - Equifax, Experian (creditexpert) and call credit, you can do this online and it will tell you if you have any late/missed payment markers on your file.

If you do insist on paying £6 for your credit score, send it to me and I'll give you a score that means just as much.
