my car has just had to be scrapped so i have been looking for a new car. seen a few cars and i wanted a quote from my current insurer.
but i couldnt really remember who insured me HAHA i couldnt find my policy. i rang swift cover ( who i thought i was with) and turns out im with them. but they said that there was a problem with my account.
1. since i put down my deposit the bank stopped the direct debit and ive missed 3 payments (£60 each time)
2. they have never got my no claims bonus proof (sent it in a prepaid envelope from them)
first i said why have you never told me this before?
they said they have... but if i was getting post from them i would 100% know i was insured with them. but i didnt! ive had no post or phone calls
they also said if i couldnt show them my no claims my bil would likely double!!!
i gave them the info for my last insurer, and they got incontact with them... then i got an email from swift cover
''The previous policy was a commercial policy, therefore we are unable to accept it.''
NO IT WASNT!!!! and nowhere on the no claims part of swift cover does it say anything that they cant accept previous commercial policy as no claims
so they want upto £360!!! what the hell do i do? please help!

Commercial NCB isn't normally accepted on a private car policy. Was your last policy on a van or something?
If you don't have a compatible NCB, then best to check the cost elsewhere and see if anyone will accept it and transfer it and weigh up the cancellation cost with the current policy.
If it's definitely not a commercial policy, contact your last insurer direct and get them to send you the NCB and ask them to state that it was a private car policy.
Swift normally do everything by email, so it's likely they will have emailed you regarding the payment problem.0 -

Make sure you inform the DVLA by recorded and signed for post, else you'll have an unpleasant surprise in the post next month!!!!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Expect to get stopped by the police, your car seized, a big fine and 6 points on your licence."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
