Tax credits and extra shifts help please.

I am a single parent working 20 hours per week and in receipt of working tax credit & child tax credit.
I have been asked due to staff shortages to do a couple of extra shifts next month but I am unsure as to wether I need to inform anybody. So far I will only be doing an extra 8 hours in the whole month. It is not a permenant change to my contracted hours it's just because they need staff and I am able to get childcare for the 2 shifts.

Any advice?

Gemma 8 hours really shouldn't affect your tax credits especially as it isn't a permenant thing.

It will add money to your yearly salary but it doesnt sound like it is a lot. When you do next years renewal they will ask for your final P60 figure anyway so you will tell them then.
