could anyone tell me if 7.5 weeks redundancy pay @£40 per week would have a deduction of £28 NI,wife was made redundant from her part-time job last week and was suprised to pay that on a total of just over £300

If this was indeed redundancy pay, then it is not subject to NIC's.0
