We are off to highfield grange in clacton for a week in the beginning of july and wonder what else or where else is worth visiting whilst we are there.
We have a young family so something to keep them occupied would be great or if anyone has stayed at Highfield Grange then your thoughts would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the tips so far:D
I did have a look at the zoo but the prices made my eyes water!!!
£17 per adult and £10 per child even for a 3 year old!!
might have to do it though as the kids will love it.0 -
Colchester zoo is great
I would avoid the weekend though as it will be busy! http://www.colchester-zoo.co.uk/
Clacton Pier has some good rides on it, Walton Pier is also very good for young kids. The beaches are sandier towards Martello Bay end of Clacton, or head to walton as their beaches are lovely too. If the weather isn't great, take a look at the cinema, during the week seats are only £2.50 and weekends it's £3.50.
Also in Colchester is Castle Park, Tenpin bowling, Odeon cinema.
What sort of things do you like doing?0 -
Colchester Zoo is excellent but the site is quite hilly. Voucher for 1 free child with 2 paying adults under Attraction Offers in the top right corner.

If you have Tesco vouchers it is also on the Clubcard rewards scheme. if you are paying its cheaper to book online in advance aswell
