I ordered a phone from CPW as I am a bit wary of some of the other ones online retailers and their cashback. Phone was to be delivered on Thursday and when it didn't I called CPW who initially tried to tell me it had been delivered to a neighbour. Turned out it was an error and told me to phone carriers Citylink.
I phoned Citylink who said they had run out of time and phone would be delivered Friday. As I wasn't expecting to have to wait in on Friday I had something arranged and said I would be back for 11.30. This was OK as driver didn't deliver in my area till the afternoon.
So you've guessed it it didn't turn up. SOO another 20 mins on the phone again waiting for CPw to answer the phone. They then contact the carrier and can offer no explanation as why it had not been delivered but assure me it will be deliverd between 8am and 12 noon today.
No use I am out at 10 doing the ballet run and not back till nearer 1.Totally not interested so I tell them that if I don't have it for 10am I will just cancel. Well they would just deliver again on monday!! I might add I politely told them I would cancel as I wasn't waiting in another day for a no show and anyway I was busy Monday and out and in most days next week as I am helping friends move house .
So this morning Citylink phone at back of nine whwen I am in shower. Husband on his way out to work answers. Citylink tell him the phone will be with me at 12 they don't deliver to my area on a saturday and one of the drivers is dropping it off on his way home.He tells them that is no use and to return it to CPW .
I then phone CPW who are not bothered tell me phone will be returned to them as refused and any monies paid will be refunded.
I ask for confirmation of cancellation but he couldn't do it.
Then he asks if there is anything else he could do for me.
Well he got it!!
If they had done their job on Thursday and got their carrier to do their job we wouldn't have been in the position we were in.
I was really angry.Until then I had been polite and too the point!
Trouble is they have the phone I want on the tarriff I want and there is nothing anywhere else.
Looks like I will just have to do without and use my easymobile sim in my old phone until credit runs out at the end of the month.
With the trade in and cashback from Quidco phone was only going to be about £60 for the whole year.
So I have kinda cut my nose off to spite my face!
But I really wasn't prepared to cancel all my plans for next week.
I had computer time booked at the college while the kids were at school and genuinely wouldn't have been able to be at home next week!!

So in summary:
- Citylink fail to deliver on 2 consecutive days - not good but it happens.
- Citylink actually phone you on the third day to arrange a delivery, and a driver even plans on delivering it on his way home because he doesn't deliver to your area on Saturday. Not bad service to be honest.
- Citylink offer to deliver on Monday but that is no use to you either.
Presumably you couldn't get the mobile delivered to a friend or neighbour's house? Or to your husband's work address? Or it couldn't be picked up from the Citylink depot?DFW Nerd 0350 -
NO I couldn't have it delivered to a neighbours they work. My hubby is not in a position to have deliveries to his work. No I couldn't go to the depot 30 mins away to pick it up.!!
Fact is it SHOULD have been delivered on the first day not at the end of business on the 3rd!
Peolpe have lives and why should we be expected to just cancel everything because a delivery has failed to turn up!!
I ordered and was informed delivery would be a specific day so you make sure you are available that day for delivery.
Do you expect me to clear a week just incase the item happens to be delivered one of the days.
Yes I agree it was good of the driver to offer to deliver it but UNFORTUNATELY there would be no one to sign for it. They knew on Friday they had no intention of delivering on Saturday and had they offered to deliver it say Monday afternoon I would have made myself available I would have gotten other people to pick 3 kids up from nursery school etc and ferry them around but they didn't or wouldn't commit to a specific time.
Not an unreasonable request considering I had spent 2 1/2days waiting for it.
I have had things not be delivered before most other companies having not been able to delivery on the specified day make arrangements for it to be delivered at a convenient time the next time and specify when they are to be coming so as not to have spent 2 whole days waiting!!I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0 -
My car broke down once and I missed an appointment. I apologised and that was the end of the matter.
I forgot a nurse's appointment (blood test) at my Doctors' the other week and arrived over half an hour late. I apologised to the receptionist and again to the nurse when she (immediately) came out to fetch me.
Isn't that the way life works?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
!!!!!! happens get over it, people are human they make mistakes and they tried their utmost to get it delivered to you on another time.

Sometimes !!!!!! happens, they couldn't make it on the thurs, you couldn't do fri or sat. So why not have them bring it on mon or arrange for it to be dropped off where you work. It's no the end of the world, and as you say, you have now cut your nose off to spite your face. Don't get so worked up about it, it's not worth it. Chill out and let it go. I think it was mighty nice of them to get their employee to drop it off on his way home, it shows that the are trying... which, tbh, seems to be more than can be said for you. Reorder it and have them deliver it on a day when you won't be busy, or to a place where it can be signed for. Surely one of your neighbours or relatives will be in to take the delivery, ot could they send it to a CPW shop for you to collect.
Chill out about it, I really don't see the point in stressing over tiny matters.
