If there's clover in your lawn the bees will bee on them.My Daisy(staffie) rolled in the clover:p got stung(yelp), she looked at her rear ,sat down on bee again, got 2nd sting(bumbles have non-barbed sting,so can sting more then once) then retreated indoors. Bumble turned up on patio later & died there (damaged wings due to being sat on):(

Thank you all - I feel calmed now. Might even go out and say hello to her tomorrow....

Still not sure about bees, but wouldn't wish harm on anything so I will keep the pot where it is. Will all the babies live in the nest or do they move on?

Looking at the links above I think it may be a leaf-cutter type as it is carrying leaves each time it goes in - made me look twice when I saw what I thought was a bright green bee. Noisy little thing it is too:rotfl:.

We have lots of bigger (bumbles?) in the lavender bushes - I don't mind them there as I don't often sit in that part of the garden.

Will keep an eye on this thread and may even become to love bees as much as you all obviously do. (You won't ever convince me on spiders though so don't even try!)

Thanks again all who replied and sorry mary-op for interupting, I'll go quiet now.
