What "extras" are you getting, and how much will it cost?

There are various threads talking about survival baskets, flip flops & post boxes etc but I though it'd be a good idea to have a thread where people can list all of the "extras" they're having at their wedding to share ideas, give an idea of cost & reccomend bargains etc.

By extras, I mean stuff that you're having on top of the standard basic wedding stuff (by that I mean registrar & venue/church, reception drinks & food, outfits, flowers), eg favours, magicians, chocolate fountains, wedding cak fountains (!!) etc.

List away girlies and guysies! :D

50 flip flops for £30, part of a job lot shared with other forum users :D

Im also thinking of doing a basket for the ladies/gents loos with bits and bobs.

Another idea I had was to display a collage of hen pics in the ladies, and stag pics in the gents :rotfl:

I'm having a Burlesque dancer. She's quite expensive, but I'm having a retro theme to my wedding and thought she'd add a touch of glamour to the evening!

I'm having flip-flops that are costing me £6 plus a little basket and a homemade sign (same as Mrs Moore)
I'm also having a candy bar. I'm hunting down vases and bowls via charity shops and ebay so will cost approx £10 for the bits and getting the sweets from the cash and carry.
I'm having a 50 cones of rose petal confetti but my mum is paying for these a present so i dont think they count! lol
I'm making all the stationery myself as i run a stationery company ;). so we're having personalised paddle fans. The cost of these is just the materials which i already have so i guess about £20 for 50.

We're having charity pins as favours which are costing £110. One for each of the guests. But as this is a charitable donation i think its money well spent!
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire

Cough Cough!!! excuse me. Ive been left to do all the research as im the internet nerd, i just go back to my missus and say 'look at this, what you think'?.....I then get a yay or nay....or a slap in the face....I do have a say on some things....honest!!!!:D

    1. What we have discussed so far is a post box next to a guest book.
    2. Some personalise chocolate bar favours. Date of wedding on etc.
    3. A few disposable cameras for the kids and i will draw up a list of tasks for them to take photos. ie. Who has the funniest hat? A silly dance, people kissing, granny pulling a face and so on...Will keep them amused and also something to look back on and have a laugh..Just hope there is none of me!;).
    4. Would like one of those spoof entertainers just for the fun of it.
Dont think i will be allowed that!
Sure there will be a few more things to add soon enough.

Oh yeah, just a small goody bag for the kids also.

We are having a string quartet which isn't the "norm" i guess... we are also having a chocolate fountain. For our favours we are having homemade decorated biscuits instead of your bog standard sugared almonds etc lol...will be having a postbox i think, umm - only having a few kids but the ones there will be getting bespoke goody bags with a nice toy in that they will like and then colouring book, crayons etc etc, i can afford to put the nice toy in cos we are only having a couple of kids under 15yrs lol!..... ummm.... can't think of anything else lol!!!
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

Favours - Lego minifigures (if I cna find enough interesting ones) ~£2 each
Guest book - always assumed one of the bridesmaids/best man/MOTB sorted that, so haven't even thought about it
Table names - may be chemical elements, but will have to be pictures rather than the real thing, but will be home made
Confetti - assumed guests brought their own
Table confetti - I'll think about this once I've decided my flowers
Extra tea lights for tables - IKEA probably - not sure how much they are, but pretty cheap even with holders.

I quite like the idea of pictures in the toilets, but I'm hoping neither will be that embarassing and my OH is a photo phobe, so might struggle. I also like the photoquest thing for the kids, but hardly any are coming.

So far we've got flip flops for all those tired feet (£27 thanks to Mrs M to be and co. :)

Also going for cancer research charity favours in memory of my mam who i lost eight years ago. But am also going to get some American Candy for guests as my OH and I met and lived in the States together so its kinda part of our theme. My bro lives there so he's agreed to pay for this..result!!

Ive bought a second hand polaroid camera so gonna make up a makeshift photobooth with props so ppl can take pics alongside writing in our guestbook. My best mate did this and it was loads of fun.

As we're getting married in a barn we've having giant garden games on the lawn which i am very excited about.

And also letting off chinese sky lanterns at end of night.

    Thats it so far..... :j
