England Shirt Chicken Limbo

Options
I'm not sure where to post this (please move if in wrong place)

So the England away shirt came out and was being sold at anywhere up to £42 for an adult size

I've not been in many sports shops but I saw it being sold at £35 in Sports Direct most recently, there was a shirt available with the special South Africa bit on it for an extra price.

When I went into town yesterday, after Englands demise stocks of flags etc everywhere were reduced so I thought I'd have a look at the prices, sure enough the shirts were reduced. Big sign in Sports Direct window - England Shirts £28.

So a result of having too much time on my hands and savvy money saving brain (well can't be that money saving if I'm willing to buy a football shirt but thats beside the point) I decided to have a sort of chicken limbo about the England shirt prices.

How low do you think it'll go?

I personally think it won't be too long (but maybe until Christmas) before you can buy one for £15.

Be interested to hear anyone elses opinions.

Its always been the case on the England shirt, buy it new pay a fortune, wait a while and get it cheap

The only problem is that come the qualifying matches for Euro 2012, which I think start next year, there'll be a new England shirt... followed by another new one for the Euro finals themselves.

England have changed shirts a couple of times since the last major competition. Keeping up is expensive but as it's a big money earner, they'll keep on doing it.

Come Christmas, I reckon the white one will be about a tenner as it'll be replaced in the spring, the red one perhaps £20 as there will be another year to run on it.

England shirts are current for 2 years - by the rip off premiership standards this seems ok until you realise that for every major tournament (assuming we qualify) we have 2 new kits.

I suspect shirts with certain names on the back will be much cheaper given what we've just been served up in South Africa...

IMO your better off trying to find a classic shirt that you like, they never go out of date.

I picked up the light blue 3rd kit, from Mexico 1970, with no 6 (Bobby Moore), on the back for less than £15 in the JD sports sale a couple of years ago.

£39.99 now! If you hold on for another couple of weeks when the world cup is over, everything will be reduced again.

The England Shirt is going for a fiver, the mask you have to wear to avoid being embarrassed in public when you are seen wearing it goes for 20 quid.

There are a choice of names you can have on the back

    'Fat 'Granny Sha**er' Rooney'
John 'bring on your girlfriends' Terry
Fabio 'sorry I don't speak English' Capello'

What a team, If it wasn't for the fact that the only people laughing are the opposing team when they see the shower of sh*t we field it would actually be funny.

can i just point out that although i too was disappointed with Englands overall performance, Argentina lost 4-0 to Germany and we lost 4-1 so we actually went out on a better note than them, at least we scored one in that game.
    cut them some slack, maybe?
