Hi me and my dh were looking last week at going to Tunsia on the 1st August. I looked on thomas cook website and went in to their shop for some prices. We saw a couple of hotels that we liked. For one of them on friday the price online was £630 pp and in the shop it was £611. I wanted to speak to my dh about the hotels and to see what he thought so didn't book it then. I checked the prices on saturday and the hotel had gone up to £659 pp, was still the same yesterday. Just checked now and it has gone up to £736.
My dh thinks its better to leave it a week or two before we want to go and then book then. Will the prices go back down or will they continue to go up.

Prices go up and down all the time. If you was happy with the price, you should have booked.0

The price will peak on 3rd July 2010 at 8.57pm. The price will then fall, up until the Tuesday evening at 8.21pm when it will reach its lowest point.Gone ... or have I?0 -

I'm afraid there are no set rules. The price could fall if you leave it to the last minute, or the holiday could disappear altogether.
I generally leave booking as late as possible and then I don't look again. This year I booked 'early' at six weeks before departure. The price went down £60 pp in the two days it took me to make up my mind. Against my advice, my wife looked the next day and the holiday had gone.0 -
and then I don't look again
If you book early OR late thats good advice,0 -

Thankyou everyone for your help. We are going to leave it for now and see what its like in a couple of weeks. We had orginally wanted to go to the riu imperial marhara but that one has gone up to from online price of £630 to £751. Shop price was £611, not sure what shop price would be now. We might end up changing where we go or the riu might come back down in price again.Married 09/09/090
