Various glitches happening with my PC - I'm going to take it back to factory settings very soon.
There's very little worth saving except for my favourites/bookmarks - can someone tell me how to do this - and keep it simple?
Cheers all

I guess someone may come along and tell you how to do it for every combination of OS and browser, but if you tell us what you are using it will probably make things easier.0

For Firefox just backup your profile under "%appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox" and restore it before you run Firefox for the first time after the re-installation.
You can also backup everything using Mozbackup.
Personally I use the Firefox extension "Syncplaces" to keep all bookmarks and passwords synchronized between all my computers. If I need to re-install I just install this extension, sync and everything is there.0 -
Chrome has a nice bookmark sync too which ties into a Google account.
IE sticks them in a favourites folder somewhere, depends on which version and OS you're running but Start > Search > favourites will probably find it.0 -
So sorry - meant to do just that :embarasse and thanks for the reminder :A
It's Windows Vista and IE 7
Thanks0 -
Depending on what browser you are using, get the relevant Xmarks extension:
http://www.xmarks.com/
You install the extension, create an account - then it saves and synchs your bookmarks across computers, so you can have all the same bookmarks across multiple PCs, regardless of where you add or delete a new link, the changes get pushed to all your devices. There is also an option for synching your passwords (which is optional).
I use this Firefox extension and it has proved to be very convenient - especially considering that I am on atleast 3 different computers throughout the day and remembering the bookmarks and passwords across them all is very handy.Shin: a device for finding furniture in the dark.0 -
As your using Vista just copy your favourites folder (Inside your user folder)0
