screens:

00: 10.00 (last purchase)
01: 4.47 (last debt)
02: 2.53 (last EC)
03: 3.00 (last gas)
25: 0.00 (min)
26: 2.65 (max)
27: 0.00 (debt owed)

main screen
- £4.00 accepted for gas
'emergency credit'
- £6.82 owed

I take it I'm using emergency credit. Do I need to put on £6.82 to get out of it? Will the meter take it if I do it again to day or do I need to wait a week?

Is there a screen for the reading or is it just the display/numbers at the top? Do you need to give reading to supplier?

Just added another £10 and now have the following:

    screens:

    00: 10.00 (last purchase)
    01: 4.35 (last debt)
    02: 2.47 (last EC)
    03: 3.18 (last gas)
    25: 0.00 (min)
    26: 2.65 (max)
    27: 0.00 (debt owed)

    main screen
    - £4.00 accepted for gas
    - £0.00 owed *

    * Is this 01 + 02 and next time I'll have 0.00 for screen 01?

re your first post, it sounds like you have a daily standing charge on the meter. the main display should show something like £4 and show the word on. press the button again and you will get the owed screen which relates to build up of standing charge on the meter, press again and you should get the meter index screen which tells you the meter reading.

00: 10.00 (last purchase) - clearly how much you topped up
01: 4.47 (last debt) - this much was taken for standing charge (s/c)
02: 2.53 (last EC) - this much was taken for emergency (emc)
03: 3.00 (last gas) - got this much for gas
25: 0.00 (min) - only applies if paying a debt back through meter
    26: 2.65 (max) - as above
    27: 0.00 (debt owed) - as above.

    re 2nd post

as you got more than 70% of your last top up you no longer owe the meter any money. what happens with the gas meters is that if you owe emc or s/c then each top up you make you will only get 30% for gas. so if you owed money and topped up £5 you would only get £1.50 for gas and so on until everything was paid back.

so next time you top up providing you havent used the emc and havent let the daily s/c build up if you top up £10 you will get £10.

I would advise contacting your supplier asap as they will need to get an account set up in your name if not already done so as it is possible to build a debt on the pre-payment meters for gas if the meter has an s/c so the last thing you want is them sending you a bill because they had the wrong meter reading/wrong details as it has been known to happen.

Does one of the screens show what the s/c is?
