Hi, Does your laptop have built in wireless?
Can you see a wireless icon in the system tray, if so right click on it and select view available wireless networks.
Find yours highlight it and click connect, the put in the wpa/wep code you have extracted from your router.

Just to add, WEP shouldn't be used anymore as it can be cracked within minutes. Go into your router and change it to WPA in your wireless security settings.
Edit: There is also a sticky thread regarding wireless on top of this forum. It should cover almost everything...0 -

Thanks-no it doesnt have built in wireless..did manage to find a usb stick and did it on that but its still not working..thanks for your help tho!0

Your USB stick will need a driver, unless windows can find one for it. You probably have to install that before you plug in the USB device which hopefully is a wireless adaptor.
Try googling the make and model.
I can't see how you expected to set it up in the first place without a dongle or built in wireless. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I've got a Belkin computer card for the wireless. Thanks for the help-I've got a bit further now! It's now trying to connect to wifi--it says 'aquiring network adress' but then just goes back to 'not connected' again. I've tried clicking repair but it gets to 'renewing IP address' and just stays on that for over half and hour (have tried it twice now)?0
