Telling the OH

  • if you don't tell him the chances are he'll find out anyway- read a letter from credit card co or bank - one or both of them could ring him at work etc. presumably you've been hiding the letters- he may take the view he doesn't want every man and his dog knowing his business- e.g. you'll have to give cccs details of his income, bills which are in his name. not only don't you tell him about the mess, you arguably committed forgery and dragged him into it and are now making appointments behind his back. how strong is this relationship?
  • Hello Scaredwitless

I would say you must tell your OH about the situation, and yes i know how hard and scary it is because i have been there.
The relief you will feel when he is aware of the situation will make you feel 10 times better and even though it wont take the debts away it does make them seem not too bad once you stop being the only one that knows of them.

You know you can do this and we are all behind you :o

    Take care

DON'T LOOK AT THE STAIRCASE, JUST THE 1ST STEP IN FRONT OF YOU.
  • I would make a pot of tea and sit down with him and the figures. If you share a budget and all the income fairly and are honest with each other over debts life gets a lot easier. When no one person is in control of money in a relationship there's nothing to fight about.

I know its hard, but surely it is better to take the pain of out's anger now rather than to have the stress of keeping it all a secret? will he not feel worse if he finds out you have been keeping it from him.
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
