Just got to get used to Windows 7 now - I wonder how much different it will be from XP?

It's pretty similar. The control panel works differently and it looks a bit swisher. There's better security and it seems more stable to me.

I did go for the i3-530.

Well I'm surprised you haven't thought about going a bit 'left-field' and try out the AMD unlocking trick that I've seen mentioned in various forums!

Truely 'techno-geek' territory .. and you might have a suitable motherboard .. which one are you using with your current chip?
