Property charges

We completed on our house purchase on 11 July, 2006.

During the legal process a charge was put on the property before exchange and the seller's solicitor was aware of it and it would be redeemed along with the mortgage from the proceeds of the sale on completion.

Just happened to be on the Land Registry site now and it shows the original charge and a charge dated 11 July. Would that be the release of the original charge? Or should I be worried?

Didn't think of that! Thank you!
Odd why it is shown as a separate document that is not shown on most other properties that I have searched.

It was a great relief. Plus we found a tenant, for the property we bought to complete the chain, very quickly.

Now trying to put this house, supposedly in perfect condition, right. So far had three plumbers, an electrician, two handymen, an aerial man, a decorator, alarm person, BT & Sky all here to correct faults that shouldn't have been. And "yes" we did have a structural survey done.

Now we have to tackle the jobs that we knew about, like a roof that supposedly "only leaked in heavy rain when the wind blows in a certain direction". Except every time it rains it must be blowing in that direction.

Also realised that the main lounge does have a door to the garden, but no openning windows, the door bell ringer is situated out of earshot in the understairs cupboard and the shower head may look amazing at 10 inch diameters but only produce trickles.

Apart from that and getting rid of odd people who turn up because the previous owners owed them money, we love it here and are so glad we've moved.
