Offset mortgages & means tested JSA

I have done a search for this but the only relevant threads haven't had any answers.....here's hoping some of the experts here know the answer.

My husband was made redundant from a professional job in March. He is currently on cont-based JSA. He is quite senior and there is very little around in his field, so we anticipate he may not find a job before these benefits run out in October.
I work part-time so not able to support us completely. We have 2 small children and have only just realised we are now entitled to child tax credits.
We have about £35K in an offset mortgage savings account - going down rapidly since this includes some redundancy money. Since this is not earning any interest, does it count as savings for the means tested JSA? The inland revenue site is not clear as it mentions ISAs but not offset moortgage accounts.
Many thanks in advance for any help.
