Can UK sellers list on eBay.com?

A friend has suggested that I would get a much bigger buying public for my product if I list it on eBay.com.

Can anyone advise me on this - how to go about it and can I list in £ Sterling? I logged on to eBay.com and can access my own UK acccount info, but couldn't see any way to make a listing.

Sorry if this has been asked before - I did a search but could n't find anything.

As a bit of a novice, I would appreciate any experience others have had with this too!

Yes you can. Just do exactly what you would do in .co.uk - only it will be best to convert the currencies.

There was a thread about this a few days ago you might want to take a look at.

There are problems, so be careful and remember that your home country will be the US , so for UK shipping it will have to go in the overseas box, and that all payments will be made in dollars.

  • Thanks very much for the information:T

I will try to find the previous thread and read that up.

I think I will probably give it a whirl - hopefully places like Oz also look at .com, - and hope that Paypal does n't give me too much of a headache!!

Will let you know how it goes!

When you list on ebay co uk you are automatically listed on the .com site as well. If you decide to use .com you still use your same ebay details. You are just using $ instead of £.

Stick with .co.uk as you can keep listing in £ and it will be converted into $ for you on .com

yeah i would still UK just ship to worlwide then ur listings will come up around the world dependant on the localtions u will ship to

State quite obviously ur in the UK and the estimate shipping times to other locations

try ebay.com or ebay.com.au though you might reach a few more people, i tried once with ebay.ie on a cheap listings day and just ended up selling to people in england ...lol

  • Thanks for the info.

It's interesting you say that the item is automatically listed, - I have had a few sales to America from my UK listings.

I have a sale finishing today, and when I had a look for my item on .com, it didn't come up in the category at all even when I selected "worldwide" and "Show all", but it did come up when I typed in the title!

Mind you I have had that on co.uk as well before now. Don't understand how the listings come up (or not) sometimes!

Thought it might be worth a try, because as someone mentioned, the Americans tend to be a bit insular(!) and not look into the outside world!
