Carers Allowance/IS the effect

I was on Income Support and DLA. Partner moved in ages ago, partner was on ESA. On moving in partner tranfers to my Income Support claim , no hastle .
So partner on my IS claim and gets Carer's Allowance. Will the shake up of Incapacity Benefit effect my partner? As the Income Support Dept keep saying my partner does not get it is me. Even though we get a couple rate of IS.
Appears that if you get Income Support , Incapacity Benefit is involved. I get credits from IB but not entitled to it. Yet get Income Suppport. Rather screwed up the way it is!

Am I stupid or something??
Please, why are you taking in a partner who is on benefits??
Have not you got any self worth, maybe it is just my way, but I would never let anybody move in who is on benefits whether I loved them or not??
This is very offensive. The OP has severe and enduring mental health problems and has actually took steps to imporve their lot.
A reminder.............
This board is here for help and support for those on or looking to claim benefits, not for judgement.0 -
I think the key benefit here is CA, as long as your partner still gets CA for caing for you she will be exempt from the shake up.I was on Income Support and DLA. Partner moved in ages ago, partner was on ESA. On moving in partner tranfers to my Income Support claim , no hastle .

I wish things were that simple!! I could scream with frustration and anger, as people on here will account for.
My partner has been super! One night I had to get my partner to phone the Police to get me out. Was walking about with a knife arguing with voices in the house!
The most frustrating thing is people whom say things like you did. I look a normal guy, in fact you probably think nothing if you saw me face to face. Articulate/intelligent guy people say. However these voices could turn at any moment and before you know it I am trying to maintain norm at the same time put up with two voices. May be telling me to serioulsy harm you or laughing at you good/bad etc.
I think I am a liability!0 -
Just ignore the ignorant, they love it when you respond!Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0
