And fuel costs are supposed to come down now.

Petrol is already down below 90p a litre. 10% drop in crude in last 6 weeks.

Will we see a drop in goods ? No way.

The hauliers (bad spelling? doesnt look right) will probably say that their
insurance has gone up just like us ordinary drivers.

And no doubt DHL will still be putting a fuel surcharge on next months invoice
  • Iceland and Somerfield have it for £1 for 4 Pints at the moment. Waitrose have it for £1.11 but if you e-mail their customer services and point out they are being undercut they drop the price for a while.

When I was putting it in the fridge it says on the bottle 3pints,yet I paid as much as I would for 3 pints.

If it says 3 pints and you were charged for 3 pints, then I cant see the problem.
  • I think maybe the OP meant 4 pints?
Its nice to be important but more important to be nice!

Sorry I meant 4 pints. When I relooked at my milk it is 3.5pints. What I am saying is not so much about the price as such but the fact I am 1/2 a pint out of milk but paying for what I thought was a 4 pinter. I think this has recently been changed as I am sure we used to get 4 pinters from newsagents. Just trying to make people aware of this fact and to keep an eye out when buying 4pinters as you may be short changed as I have.

You may want to look at similar threads where quantities of bottled beers are often questioned eg... They used only sell Stella/Budweiser etc in 330ml bottles and at times like Xmas etc you could buy 2 crates for say £18. During and since the world cup the same offers have been frequently available but the bottles have been downsized to 284ml and in some cases recently 207ml?. Having read these threads for some time now it pays in most cases to check the price per 100ml. A typical example is Heinz tomato ketchup (yummy). In general terms it is more costly to buy squeezy botlles per 100ml than glass bottles, it was a dear old lady who accosted and educated me on this one in Morrisons and I have a lot to thank the wise dear for

You may well complain about the high price of milk in the shops but they are making huge profits on it - they must be because farmers only get approximately 18p per litre for the milk they sell. It costs them as much and in many cases more to produce the milk - I live on a farm so know!

    According to farm.org.uk:
it costs a dairy farmer between 18 -22p to produce a litre of milk. Yet currently, on average, farmers are being paid around 17.5 pence per litre of milk by the processors who buy their milk – i.e. below the cost of production. The dairies who collect, process and package the milk are then selling onto the supermarkets for about 26 pence per litre. The supermarkets then sell the milk onto their customers at a range of between 55 – 65 pence per litre. A difference of 29 -39 pence per litre from which to account for their costs and profit
