Help with Powergen
I have had lots of trubble with my gas and elecy bills since moving into a new build house 18mths ago... mainly i havn't had a bill!!
anyway all this is now being sorted and they are only back billing one quater for the electricity and not back billing for the gas!! bouns i say!!!
well i received a letter today staging that since my gas is supplied by IGT and not national grid (transco) and due "additional administration and transportation costs" they will charge an additional £42 per year!!!
Has anyone else experianced this and what can be done about it....

It seems to be increasingly common with new builds and there is nothing that you can do about it, other than pay the annual charge!

It was probably mentioned in the house documents somewhere, and your solicitor should have pointed it out. Get it back orf him.0

Hi apples101
We have the same charge - apparently the £42 also covers maintenance of the pipes etc. I spoke to someone about this a while ago and they said nothing can be done, and whichever supplier you choose will add on exactly the same figure.
Not much help I know, but as espresso said, it seems to be increasingly common on new builds (our house is about 3-4 years old).

Because the IGTs charge the builders less to lay pipes then transco - They make there money back through the fees you see0
