Means-tested benefits limits

I'm on JSA having been made redundant back at the end of April. I get Council Tax Benefit. My savings are approx. £3000. However, I have recently won damages in an industrial injuries case, and have been awarded a sum that will push my savings above £6000.
Am I right in thinking that this is the upper-limit for receipt of Council Tax Benefits?.

Yes, that is correct.
ETA, sorry read it wrong -the upper limit is £16k after which you will not be eligible for means-tested Benefits. Between £6k and £16k Benefits are reduced on a slidig scale.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
The amount you can have in savings and claim means tested benefit is tapered.
So if you have savings between 6K and 16K you will still be entitled, obvious at the upper entitled to very little.
Above 16K you are unable to claim any means tested benefit.

People like you give genuine claimants a bad name.
How can you come on here and blatantly say that to the very people who are paying you is beyond me.................
