Best place to get books is car boot sales as they are really cheap and you don't have to pay postage. My daughters are my world0

look out for job lots on ebay and search by nearest to you you might get lucky.0

Charity shops are also a good source.0

I've just ordered some second hand books from PlayTrade on Play.com, which is their private sellers' section & mostly second hand stuff. Unlike Amazon etc, there is no postage to pay & a bit of browsing turns up some good bargains. I've ordered one I really wanted today for just £1.20 delivered.
Or have you tried The Book People or Bananas? They have some good sets of books which work out very good value, especially if you can get a discount on the p&P (if you are ordering in bulk you may get free delivery). The Works do 3 paperbacks for £5 too.
Also, try your local library. Ours regularly has a shelf of old stock for sale very cheaply.0 -

These have some real bargains sometimes if you haven't got a decent charity shop near you. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

freecycle/Freegle
Or your local library - ours has a "fill a bag for a £1" days every so often - me and OH got a bag full last time
they did, and we're still working our way through. Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Yey!! YIPPEE!!0 -
www.priceminister.co.uk is quite good (a bit like ebay but imho seems to be cheaper on occasion). You often get good sign up offers, like £5 off a £10 spend, so it's all about timing - don't sign up without a decent offer. I heard about the site on here:

Try this thread but recent offers:

I agree that car boot sales are the best way, Charity shops around here are barely cheaper than new! The library is quite cheap too. We do have books offered occasionally on the local freecycle group."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Does the your local library authority not have a service for nursing homes? Every library I have worked for has had a service where nursing homes can borrow a lot of books for an extended period of time as well as CDs and DVDs.0
