Is anyone else planning a wedding?

Hi, my fiance and I are just starting to plan our wedding for next year (hopefully!) and I was wondering if anyone else was in the same stages of the planning process. We want to do this as cheap as possible but we still want it to be nice and a great day to remember, we are hoping this site will come in very useful with help doing this. Do you have any tips, info and advice???

:jsooooo excited!!!!

Good luck Angel cakes..i got married 18 months ago (just feels like a lifetime lol). I had my family help with making home made invitations, got a dress from Debenhams (not a white frilly one!), used local people for flowers, cake etc, alcohol from Oddbins (they delivered but dad took the rest back for a refund). I have to say my dad payed for most things, but I did try & keep the costs down.. I think people appreciated that we put a personal touch to things, and having family help was also special and helped them feel involved.(My sister did my hair for me on the day, took abt 10 mins, with some hair things from one of the accessory shops!)... It was very hard work planning a simple wedding, but it was a special time. x
