Gritish Bas and customer service

BG - totally useless! My impression is that one arm doesn't know what the other arm is doing most of the time. Thought it might also be helpful to those with problems to post the link to energywatch - gas and electricity watchdog - for what it's worth. They're my next stop. Just sent my letter to BG in Southampton. Funnily enough I used to work for BG and part of what I did was processing the complaint letters... ahh the good old days.0

You're not wrong there, I used to service the PCs for them, at the West Midlands and East Midlands sites, along with other sites elsewhere in England & Wales at the weekends, their computers were old and slow, but they didn't want to upgrade, though they did slowly some years later, even though from one end of CS to the other end was over a 3rd of a mile long and full of desks with 4 - 8 PCs on them, you would be lucky to find even one person sitting at the desk, and often they would busy out their phone, so they couldn't take calls, can remember when the electricity market had just opened up, the few CS staff they did have they switched them over to the team trying to push electricity, they'd have large displays stating how many people they had converted, they couldn't care about the other display saying how many gas customers were still in the queue waiting to be answered and how long they had been waiting.
I was also there when they split Transco from British Gas, that was awkward for them both, as they had to pretend to have forgotten all the knowledge they received about each business and how it all worked. Which was crazy as I'd go to a site and there would be several Trasco buildings and several British Gas buildings, I worked on contract for both, but had to sign forms saying I wouldn't pass details from one to the other now they were separate companies, not that I was bothered, I just had a job to do, but at breaks, you'd get friends or husbands and wives meeting up with each other from each company as before they worked for one company, yet now they work for two different companies, it was fun though, and have to admit I miss it all. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
