Possibly if it was a Volvo communicator key.
It would probably be more likely to be able to find out from the cars ECU when it was last started/opened/used and with which key.The man without a signature.0 -

If your worried someone is using your car using a lost key of anything you can get the old keys removed from the memory of the car so they no longer work.0 -
my car was stolen and i was speaking to the insurance company today. they said they are sending the main key away for analysis to see when it was last used, but i didnt think they would be able do that. its no big deal, i was just amazed to think that a key would be able to hold that sort of info if you know what i mean lol0

They're probably just trying to call your bluff to try make sure you're making a genuine insurance claim.0
