re tax credits

Anyne know?
Was wondering if this is correct been told this so not sure.

split with hubby in april and claimed working and childrens tax credits have never claimed before.
the estimate i gave turns out to be wrong I had earned less than estimate.
friend told me when I renew I will receive this amount back is this right?

    When you renew you may be entitled to more money for 09/10 and they will pay you that in one lump sum. They will also adjust your 10/11 award to be based on the actual 09/10 income as it is more up to date.

    you most likely will be entitled to the money back. the general advice on the forms is if you must use an estimate, to always over estimate, which you have done. this prevents and over payment building up which you would have to pay back
