Just something to consider - I saw a poster for Kids Week at my local station and listed were Avenue Q and Priscilla Queen of the Dessert. I've seen both and I don't think either is suitable for kids younger than teenagers. In fact, for both the official advice is not recommended for kids under 12.0

We did, the year before last, get the free kids meal at Rainforest Cafe but they were late seating us and we nearly missed the show because it was in Hammersmith, we then had to rush dinner so last year we just booked cheap matinee tickets for Lion King and went to Pizza Express round the corner and the kids ate off the Kids Menu. Much more relaxed and the same price because the price of adult meals at RC is expensive. My DD loves it and we try to go to the theatre every summer.
There were some under 5's but it is a long show and they do get bored and make a noise - depending on the show I think it is pretty much expected at Matinees from the ones I have been to. LK is AMAZING. My 6yo DD was transfixed for the full show.
But you do have to pay for under 5's - they just try to discourage you taking them, hence the offer is for 5-16's. Just think of Saturday morning Cinema with loads of toddlers running around and screaming, it is distracting for others - especially if they have paid £50+ to see the show.
ETA: Just looked for Wicked and they have £17.50 seats for the show I checked so please be aware that you MAY pay more for the Kids Week offers as they usually only offer full price seats for Kids Week
Whilst I agree with the poster above, the best thing about kids club tickets as that they are 'the best seats in the house'. My son & I went to see Grease a few years ago in cheap seats and it was fine - we knew what was going on anyway and knew the tunes so it didn't matter so much.
We have 2 Kids Week tickets for Wicked in the stalls £60 - brilliant view - I'd rather pay the extra £12.50 each0 -

I disagree with this. We had crap seats to see HSM - about 4 rows from the back - and I'd rather have paid less to have the same view as these were 'full price' apparently. On year 2 we learned our lesson and didn't use the Kids week offer and got a better deal.
Check ALL seats before making your booking as they certainly do not guarantee you the best seats by using the kids week offer,
And also check out the actual theatre and the seat where you are sitting on theatre monkey http://www.theatremonkey.com/seatingplanindex.htm because while you might have 'good seats' that cost the most but some of the good seats do have restricted views or it is too loud for the little ones because of the orchestra being on top of them, or they cannot see the stage because of how low they are seated near the stage. Phantom has lots of seats with restricted views and at a price of £65 plus BF. You get a better view with a cheaper seat there.
Research the theatre, show and seat before you book in your excitement of getting a free ticket as you might not be getting your moneys worth.0 -

They only give a limited number for Kids Week. Have a look at Ticketmaster and see what they will charge you, their site is very good now, you can hover over the seat you want and get the price of it without clicking in and out.0 -

True, but kids week does apply to "kids" up to the age of 16. It is made very clear on the kidsweek website what age each show is recommended for. The shows you mention are in the 15+ category.0 -
Just to let you know that Kids Week has been extended until 3rd September - if you want to still take advantage of top-price seats on BOGOF with children getting the free ticket.
I personally think it is a great promotion - yes there are other cheap tickets available remembering though that generally with tickets you pay for what you get. A £17.50 wicked ticket is right at the side, cutting off some of the action that takes place. Depends entirely on what you want to do, where you want to sit and what you're budget is!! I've sat in a £20.00 seat at Wicked (three sits off the very edge of the theatre) and it was fine!!
Anyhow - Kids Week extended till 3rd September. See what you think!!
Six year old went to see 'The Gruffalo' at the theatre this week - loved it! Check to see if it's touring near you.. £10 for a show! Not bad!0 -
Has anyone managed to get tickets with this this year? I can see that the site is not live but cant seem to get anywhere! Perhaps its just that I am after the most popular ones but I'm getting nowhere fast.0

Hi TraceyB
The site is live, but I've not had success as the only show I wanted tickets for was Shrek and got as far as booking then no seats availableOh well. Keep trying, hit redial for the phones and also keep checking back on the website daily....http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/feature/kids_week/calendar.html
