Remember if it was the other way around and the boss was sending emails to the employees like the one the OP did on a constant basis it could be construed as harrassment.

I can understand someone being riled by this for about 5 minutes. But as manager, you have to deal with the issue. You have had this in front of you for 24 hours and you are still riled by it and you are not even the manager.

All we have here is someone standing up for his rights. As manager, you sort his problems and his emails go away. But you would tell him to rewrite his email before you dealt with the problem. I cannot see anything here which is actually disrespect of the boss. If the boss is wrong, then tell him his is wrong. That is not disrespect, it is honesty.

Remeber the Emperor who was stark bllk naked. And everyone told him what a wonderful suit he was wearing. Now that is what I call disrespect.

I'm not riled about it, I am just having a discussion on the merits of email etiquette with you and other members on here. I just said I think the email could be better written.

I have no problem in being told I am wrong if I am wrong but again if someone does it in the wrong way then it may get my back up.

In the end I go on the way of living of treating people how I would expect to be treated so as of today I have not had any narky emails from colleagues and long may it continue :D
The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
