Charity Member ID Card

I am involved with a small charity which is looking at getting ID cards done for the main people involved, which can be used when at a collection or representing the charity.
In addition to a photo, charity logo and registered charity number, members name, and the secretarys signature, we thought about getting these done on card then laminated by a local printers.
Are there likely to be any security or "professionalism" issues ?
Just wondering if anyone else has done these.

I would have thought that they would need some form of contact number on them so that people could ring to check the legitimacy of the ID (i.e. your main office number - make sure that it is the same number that is registered at the Charity Commission, appears on your website, appears in the yellow pages, etc).
The number would also act as a way of contacting the charity if the ID was lost and someone found it. e.g. "If found, please ring the above number and we will arrange to collect", or something. No trees were killed to send this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced. - Neil deGrasse Tyson (@neiltyson)0 -
why not buy a laminator and laminate them yourself?
our small charity does this with our membership cards
you can print off the information you need from your own printer and then laminate them
I believe laminators are very reasonably priced these days0 -

if you are phoning to check that a caller to your home is genuine, ie from the gas board etc; always look the number up yourself, never take a number from the caller or from any of his paper work as they themselves could be bogus numbers which simply connect to an accomplace!!!!When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -

That's why he needs to make sure the number he puts on the card matches the registered number at Charity Commission, etc, so when someone looks it up themselves the number they look up will match what is on the card, but you have highlighted a very good point. No trees were killed to send this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced. - Neil deGrasse Tyson (@neiltyson)0 -

It is always better to get ID cards printed by professional printers, as they are the best at what they do. There are number of ID card printers out there, but choosing the best one among them is very important. I think internet is the best place to look for expert ID card printers.0

probaly to late for the original poster, but if you are a charity why not try your local council licensing dept. most taxi drivers now have a laminate badge with a holgram in it, be cheaky and ask even if you had to pay cost price.Div 1 Play Off Winners 2007

Sad to say but the quality of the card is no indication of the authenticity of the holder.
Just save your charities money and print yourself a simple card, add a picture if it makes you feel better. A contact number is better than no contact number.0 -

And the charity registration number is also appropriate for the OP's charity as these are to be used when engaged in fund-raising activities.0
