Buyers that take the mickey!

For the second time in as many months i've had a buyer complain about an item's condition and demand a refund. Not a problem but today was the second time i've had the wrong item returned on purpose. They've swapped it with another and tried to get a refund from me when it wasn't mine in the first place
Does anyone else get these sort of buyers i think it's very wrong imo and wouldn't dream of trying to rip someone off like this.
They've bought the same item on their feedback as mine except this other one was much cheaper and they've kept the best condition one (mine) and sent the other back to me!
Is it just unlucky me or are more buyers using the rules to their advantage?

Did they send it back by post? I'd just reply saying that your item was marked with UV special ink, and they seem to have returned the wrong item by mistake, so can they now return the correct item, and pay for the other one to be returned to them.
If they don't play ball, then I'd message them again mentioning fraud and going to the police...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Did they return it via a trackable method

They deserve what they get if they didnt

Is it something from the photos on ebay that yours was in better condition, if so I would raise it with ebay.
I know that other people like the fact that sellers can't give negs anymore but I do think that ebay has become very one sided. When a seller has a bad experience there's nothing to warn others. Even if it was something invisible, but that we could mark down & then block this type of buyer. It would then mean that ebay would become a more honest place again.
OP I do hope that it wasn't a lot of money, if you can't prove the item returned was the one you sold.0
