Also to add a minor mechanical fault on an 11 year old car doesnt necessarily mean it breaches SOGA.
As for the MOT thing. I bet there is some small print that says on cars under a certain age or over a certain value. Fairly common to say years MOT on cars except clearance/those under a certain value/over a certain age0 -
also OP - Why did you not purchase breakdown cover when purchasing your insurance?0
