Keeping old shower but replacing rest of bathroom?

We need to replace our bathroom (tiles falling off the wall, bath keeps leaking etc) with a new white suite and white tiles but are wondering whether to keep the old shower or replace it. It's a Mira Advance, the 1995-2003 model, in an off-white and grey finish. It works well still, and new versions of it are £200+. We'd replace the hose and rail and showerhead with new chrome effect ones. We're not sure how it would look though, keeping the (slightly dated looking and not white) shower unit against the new white tiles, but are loath to pay out loads of money for a new shower, just for the appearance of it. Has anyone ever done this and kept an old shower in, to save money? If so, how did it look? Thanks.

We are about to have a new bathroom fitted and we are keeping our old shower, but as its only about 2 years old it is still pretty white
so there wont be a problem, appearance wise,
Personalyy, it it was dated and tired looking i would replace the whole lot. You will have this lovely pristine white bathroom and a tired looking shower unt spoiling the effect. and its sods law that you will get this all done and the shower will die a death.
You dont have to have an exact replacement, lots of modern showers are available for under £100 and you will have the plumber there on site to fit it. (and not have to pay him a call out charge and labout in a few months to fit a new one) If you take that cost into account
it doesnt seem quite so expensive.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
