A&L bank 'loyalty' to customers and warning on travel insurance!

 Typical - after A&L prised me over to their account with their promise of free travel insurance last year I open the post to discover they have downgraded the insurance from Worldwide to Europe - so much for loyalty to their customers!

You can't really complain, you got a good rate of interest, plus a 0% overdraft for a year. It was very generous of them to give worldwide travel cover for a year as well!

fair enough but note that I posted this as a warning to anyone who did take this out - it would be very easy to put their communication to one side thinking that it was simply the renewal for another year - the note about the downgrade of the insurance only gets a mention third paragraph down... which would matter a lot if you set off somewhere other than Europe without insurance... that I find a bit sneaky and a bit silly.

They wrote to me - and presumably all other account holders - about worldwide insurance being downgraded to Europe well before my renewal date. As I had to make a claim re World last year which was very smoothly handled, I felt I had done very well out of them - and I only joined them for the incentive really. Can't remember how much it was now - £25?
