Since the item wasn't as described you were entitled upon returning them to a refund of their purchase price including return carriage cost, since it's obviously their fault.
Obviously, given the carriage costs and administration, then for low priced items it's usually cheaper and easier for the retailer to just offer a refund and not bother with the return.
Thanks, that's basically what happened except I was refunded in card points instead of money which is fine as I will spend them :T0
