is it bad to do this? (shoe related!)

Wedding shoes.... I'm wearing a long full dress so for a start they aren't going to be majorly visible.
I already have a pair of paradox bridal shoes. I have them from when I was married before 7 years ago; I kept them because I was loathed to throw away a perfectly good pair of shoes which cost a small fortune (£140 I think - back in the days when I had money lol!) I always intended to dye them and get some use out of them but never got round to it. Ironically the same "model" is still being sold now. They would match my new dress perfectly and I have no sentimentality about it (nor does my new partner, I have checked - he says "shoes are just shoes, I don't mind!!")
Trouble is 2 things - they obviously aren't brand new - the leather soles are marked as a result of being worn once before but will that matter? Will anyone see them?
Also they are quite pointy toed and on one of the toes the silk has a dark scuff. The fabric isn't damaged, and I think the stain could potentially be cleaned but I wouldn't know where to start. I phoned 2 dry cleaners, both of which said they couldn't help. Is there anything I can try at home?
Whats general opinion on this? Is it MSE to use them again? If I were to have a new pair, they would have to be super cheap so it seems such a shame to have a lovely quality pair sat here doing nothing.
Opinions please!

use them, shoes are just shoes after all.0

I would use them again, they are only shoes and most people won't be paying great attention to your feet espcially if you are wearing a floor length dress.Getting married Wednesday 24th August 2011!

I'd say use them. Why not dye them to make them look different, and then the scuff won't be so visible? My dress is just below my knees in white, and Im planning on getting a fabulous pair of bright shoes to look a bit different, maybe hot pink or royal blue.LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0

Echoing others, go for it.
If you're not sentimental about it, why spend more on shes that you might not wear that often.
Try a shoe repairs shop to see if they can suggest a way to clean the scuff.0 -
I have a pair of kitten heels that I got at a clothes swap event (me and my friends/acquaintances/friends of friends hold these every so often) that I am considering wearing as my wedding shoes. They are plain, so I was going to add shoe clips. If that's not MSE, I don't know what is!0

I am getting my shoes from Freegle . I am just trying to arrange pick up. The lady said they are from BHS and originally cost her £60.
Otherwise I am going to try and get a pair from a charity shop.0 -
A cobblers may be able to help as they see lots of different shoes, just call in one and ask if they can help with stain removal.
And it's very MSE0 -
I agree with the others, wear them! No-one is going to notice and say, 'Didn't you wear them before?' I wouldn't worry about the bottoms either, new ones will have marked soles within minutes of stepping outside anyway.
I did a quick google of how to clean satin shoes (which I guess would be similar to silk?) and came up with this MSE thread, it seems like vodka works! You could also try this, £3.99 isn't stupidly expensive either!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Wear them! If your dress is long enough to cover them it should be fine, and if you're really bothered about the scuff and can't get it clean then you can always dye them (I like the idea of dyeing them blue, as then you have your 'something old' and your 'something blue')."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

My shoes are ex sample and have a black mark on the heel but no one will see it and it was far too much of a bargain to turn down0
