The last washing machine/cooker/fridge we purchaced from a local repair shop who sold grade a new stock, new but might have been supperseded by newer models or with a slight scratch on the side .
Everything was around a third cheaper and delivered for free

I had a Bosch washer about 6 years ago. Worst machine I ever had. Slow, prone to breakdown and left a powder residue on clothes. The repair who came out (he was agent for Bosch, Hotpoint, Hoover etc) said that Bosch washing machines were poorly made unlike their other appliances. He said Hoover used to be the best but they were too now producing lower quality machines. His tip was to buy cheap as possible as most machines now only last about 3 years without developing faults.

Was there some discounts available with Egg Credit Cards a few weeks ago?.
I cant find it now, can anyone help please?
  • sorry no discount voucher but can highly recommend Bosch washers. I have had mine for 18months and not one problem, had a Hoover before that and it was a nightmare. Bosch is always a best buy in the Which mags.

I too have a Bosch and cant sing its praises highly enough.
My previous washer lasted for 10 years or so, so it was a long time since I had had to buy one. Well, they had come on in leaps and bounds!! I couldnt believe how big the drum is-you get so much stuff in it!

I bought mine from John Lewis, who have their undersale guarantee. Look at Hi-Speks website, (sorry, dont have the link) as they are often very cheap, and then just get John Lewis to price match it.

Or there is always good old Costco. They have their Passport offers staring this week-when I get a minute I will check if they have any offers coming up and let you know.

    Right, just been and looked.
Costco have a WhirlpoolWashing MAchine, model number AWO/D 4505. Normal price is £199.99 plus VAT. From Sept 18 to Sept 24, there is a £40 off coupon, making it £159.99 plus VAT (£187.99 incl VAT)
    Description in Passport is:
Spin speed 1200rpm, 5kg max load, 6thSense technology, Energy Efficiency Rating A, Wide Opening Door, H=850, W=595, D=540

    Hope this helps!
