Maternity Allowance Query

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone might know if when I need to submit payslips for my job I had last year in order to claim Maternity Allowance, if instead I can just show my bank statements which shows the money going in each week. I was never really given payslips, and really really don't want to have any contact with the company, for personal reasons.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

I think you would need the actual wage slips Im afraid, you would have to request duplicates from the company. Im not 100% though so check with the jobcentre as my office doesnt deal with MA.

Oh dear, well thank you for the advice. I wonder if maybe my p45 might be enough to show my earnings as a chunk.

No you need your actual payslips not your P45. P45 shows how much you were paid over the year. Not how much you were paid each week/month in your qualifying test period.

Oh !!!!!!, then thats that, Im going to have to contact them and ask for some duplicates or a letter stating my earnings, as Ive found some, but not all of them.
Just a rather messy situation, never ever wanted to talk to my old boss again, let alone tell him Im pregnant and I need a favour. Oh well, will have to bite the bullet it looks like.

Phew, luckily I have rifled through everything, and managed to just find enough payslips to cover the 13 weeks they need to see, so thats a weight off my mind!
