I'm thinking about selling the jewellery and other things that i make but have no idea where to start.
I've looked at folksy and it seems the way to go rather than ebay. Or the other thing i thought about doing was making up a fair few pieces and trying to sell them at a boot sale.
Anyone got any other ideas?? I've not really sold anything before so i'm all new to this.
Thanks in advance for advice :j

You may find good advise on folksy & etsy on the jewellery making board, https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2166459 as I'm sure that some of the posters there sell. There are also various craft boards, might be worth searching for folksy & I'm sure the other one is etsy.
I think that you'll probably get more money for your things on those sites. Putiing some pieces on ebay at least to start would probably be a good idea & maybe sending a compliment slip with any sales pointing to your other shops?0 -
I've advertised a few things on Folksy and another Uk site Misi and not had much luck. You see the same things on both so I think most people who use Folksy also use Misi. I too make jewellery, and I've found that there are just too damn many of us these days! Where I have done best is at local craft fairs and doing jewellery parties for friends and colleagues.
Having said that, it only costs 20p to list an item for 3 months (I think it's 3, might be 6) so what have you got to lose? Give it a go.Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
I joined Folksy in mid April, I've made 22 sales so far which I'm quite happy with as to be honest I can't say I spend that much time on my shop. I think it really helps to have a niche and reasonable quality photos. Mine aren't the greatest but I've seen worse about, people won't usually buy your jewellery unless the photos really show what the piece looks like, it isn't much good if they are dull/blurry/out of foucs... Hope that helps a bit, my folksy shop is my homepage if you want to have a nose about

I had a hopeless few months with etsy, but I was selling fabrics rather than made items, and I think handmade things can do fairly well there.0
