you won't be charged a fee for using your debit card to purchase currency
Using your debit card to buy foreign currency does incur a charge, but if you use the Post Office then the fee is waived. I used Travelex the other month and got charged by A & L. When I asked A & L about the charge I was told about their tie with the Post Office.0 -
In my experience if you draw money in other countries using A&L visa debit card you get a nasty exchange rate + £1.50 for transaction. Where as it is not so with Nationwide and they gave a very good exchange rate as well.0
