driving in flip-flops ?

hi.

i´m in spain where i have been told that driving with ANY shoes which do not have heel straps would give u a fine of 100 euros.

and that in the uk this is also the case, never heard of it though and cant find any info on aa or rac sites for driving abroad.

any info please coz i regularly (as i am sure a lot of people do, both male and female) drive in summer shoes which do not have backs

Sounds like a load of Croc.

But then if that's the law you should toe the line or foot the bill.

This has been reported in several english language newspapers in spain. I have not heard of anyone being prosecuted in the UK.

Even with straps, the front of the flip flop can still catch the pedals when you are not expecting it. My solution is to slip them off and drive bare feet if you are wearing flip flops.

I take them off and drive bare foot. Surely there isn't any problem in driving with no shoes on!

Ive had that happen to me some years back. The pedal got caught in the front of the flip flop. I can see how it could cause an accident.

I bought a second hand car a few years back,Car was in perfect condiotion & the only damage was to the floor mat from the previous owners stilleto heel!
As for driving in flip flops, then what's the difference between driving in them or sandles?Especially those one's women like my dgf wear that are like flipps.

Hi, I've caught my flip flop on the pedal before - I never wear them now. I like driving barefoot - thought it was illegal but apparently this is just a myth?
